In Parliament: Business Questions—Planning Policy

In Business Questions, I raised serious concerns about the way current national planning policy is undermining local democracy and failing our communities. In towns like Buntingford and Royston, developers are imposing inappropriate bolt-on estates that do nothing to meet the urgent need for genuinely affordable housing. This approach is not only damaging our towns—it’s eroding public trust in the Government’s housebuilding ambitions. I called for a debate on Government time to ensure that the presumption in favour of sustainable development actually delivers for local communities.
