Fighting for our future

An affordable home for all
I will campaign for a new generation of high-quality council housing, so that everyone living in North East Hertfordshire can afford a safe comfortable home to build a life from.

Rebuilding our public services
I will fight for the investment our schools, NHS, and local councils desperately need, and I will hold developers to account to ensure that new housing in North East Hertfordshire comes with expanded public services.

Regular, reliable and cheap public transport
I will champion the nationalisation of our railways and an end to underfunded deregulated bus services, so that convenient and affordable public transport can connect young people to new opportunities, reduce loneliness and isolation, and cut pollution.

Thriving local businesses
I will promote the local independent businesses that are the lifeblood of our towns and villages. I will support them against the challenge of out-of-town retail and online corporations, putting the heart back into our communities, and ensuring wherever you live, you have the opportunity for a decent job.

Restoring our nature and wildlife
I’ll challenge the big companies polluting our rivers and countryside, and I’ll campaign for the habitat restoration, stronger environmental protections, and support for nature friendly farming we need to avert ecological collapse and climate catastrophe.

Social care free at the point of use like the NHS
Everyone deserves the dignity of high quality social care when they need it, but right now so much depends on what you can afford to pay. This system is failing families and adding to the NHS crisis. As your MP, I'll fight for a National Care Service from day one.
